Huffington
Post (2014) reports of the possibility of China easing animal testing rules in
order to allow for international cosmetics companies to operate in the nation.
This has come as a result of the pressure from the EU that has banned the sale
of cosmetic products and foods that have been tested on animals. Cosmetics
retailer L’Oreal may get a chance to operate in the nation as a result of this.
However, animal rights groups argue that this may not be the end of animal
testing in the nation as there are ingredients used for cosmetics may still go
through an approval process that involves animals.
